Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the proposal of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which considers match-fixing as a crime. Recently, the chairman of PCB Ehsan Mani met PM Imran Khan. Ehsan Mani said that the enactment of this law will make the players afraid. Also, criminals will also be punished. There have been many cases of match-fixing in Pakistan cricket. Some of them include former Test captain Salim Malik, Danish Kaneria, Salman Batt, Mohd. Asif, Mohd. Aamir and Sharjeel Khan.
The Prime Minister has asked it to seek clearance from other ministries so that it can be presented in Parliament. It will become the rule after getting approval from there. In addition to the ban, there is also a provision of imprisonment. Apart from this, there is a provision for confiscation of funds received from corruption. Recently, Umar Akmal was banned due to allegations.
PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani said, "In today's time we do not have any authority or law, with the help of which we can call witnesses, investigate bank accounts or investigate in other ways. I have already told the government about it (making laws), because in countries like Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka there is a separate law for this. According to the law of these countries, spot or match-fixing is considered a crime. "
