Odisha’s Pramod Bhagat Wins Gold at World Championships

Odisha's ace para-badminton player Pramod Bhagat added another feather to his cap as he joined Manoj Sarkar to secure the gold medal in men's doubles category at the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in Basel, Switzerland.

The World-positioned 2 Indian pair developed as victors by overcoming Nitesh Kumar and Tarun 14-21,21-15,21-16 out of an all-Indians final.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated Bhagat on his accomplishment.

Bhagat was recently chosen for the prestigious Arjuna Award. He is the eighth Arjuna Award awardee from the state. Hailing from Attabira in Bargarh district, Pramod has carried laurels to Odisha and nation a few times.
