'No Plan to Issue Show Cause Letter to Virat Kohli', says Saurav Ganguly
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has said that there is no plan to send a show-cause notice to Virat Kohli. Virat had made many important revelations in the press conference after being removed from the captaincy of ODIs and almost proved Sourav Ganguly to be a liar. After this, there were reports that the Indian Cricket Board may issue a show-cause notice to Sourav Ganguly. Now Sourav Ganguly has rubbished these reports and said that the board has no such plan.
Several claims surfaced after Virat stood down as Test captain, claiming that Kohli would have been fired if he hadn't stepped down after the Test series against South Africa. It was also reported that before the Test series against South Africa, Board President Ganguly planned to send a show-cause notice to then-Test captain Kohli. Some board members, including Ganguly, were enraged by Virat's news conference. Ganguly had discussed this with the board members. They decided against it after much discussion.

Virat Kohli had pointed out in a news conference before departing for South Africa that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and other board members had lied to him. After relinquishing the T20 leadership, Virat had claimed that no one had talked to him. Aside from that, he was contacted one hour and a half before being relieved of his ODI captaincy. At the same time, Sourav Ganguly stated that Rohit was only granted the ODI captaincy after speaking with Virat.
Both Sourav Ganguly and Chetan Sharma had said that the selectors had asked him to reconsider Virat's decision to step down from the T20 captaincy. However, Virat ignored him and left the captaincy of T20. The selectors did not want the captain of ODI and T20 to be different. In such a situation, the captaincy of ODI was taken from Virat and Rohit was made the captain of the ODI team along with T20.

In an interview with a leading newspaper, Sourav Ganguly remarked that the BCCI had no such plans. Virat Kohli has not received any notification from the Indian cricket board. Following this, he was deprived of his ODI leadership, and he has now also relinquished his Test captaincy.
