Neeraj Chopra not to Participate in Commonwealth Games 2022 due to Injury

Commonwealth Games 2022: Just before the start of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, India suffered a major setback. Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who won the gold medal in Tokyo Olympics, has been ruled out of the Commonwealth Games.

A few days back, Neeraj, who won silver in World Athletics, is missing the Commonwealth Games due to injury. The 22nd Commonwealth Games will begin on July 28.

India often performs better in the Commonwealth Games and confirms its place in the top 3. This time everyone was hoping that due to Neeraj Chopra, India's gold medal in javelin throw could be confirmed.

But Neeraj Chopra himself has confirmed that he will not be able to participate in these games due to injury.

History created in Tokyo Olympics and World Athletics

The country had high hopes for 24-year-old Neeraj Chopra, he returned to the track after undergoing an operation in 2019 and since then history is being created.

Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics and became the second athlete from India to win gold in the single-person category.

Apart from this, Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the World Athletics Championship held in America this week.

Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian since 2003 to win a medal here. Neeraj Chopra threw the javelin up to 88.13 meters away and won the silver medal.

Neeraj is also the champion of 2018 Commonwealth Games. In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Neeraj won the gold with a throw of 86.47m.
