Mayank and Mohd Shami Jumped to Career Best Position in ICC Test Rankings

Indian team's fast bowler Mohammad Shami and opener Mayank Agarwal have been rewarded for their outstanding performance in the Test series against Bangladesh. Both Indian players have gained in the latest Test rankings released by the ICC.  Mayank, who scored a double century, is ranked 11th in the batting rankings while Shami has moved up to seventh in the bowling rankings.

India beat Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs in the first match of the two-Test series played in Indore. Openers Mayank Agarwal and Mohammed Shami, who contributed significantly to this victory, have achieved career-best rankings.

Shami had taken three wickets for 27 runs in the first innings while four wickets for 21 runs in the second innings. With this performance, he has jumped 8 places in the Test bowling rankings. He has reached seventh place with 790 points. It is the third best rating point achieved by an Indian fast bowler after Kapil Dev (877), Jaspreet Bumrah (832). Mayank Agarwal, who scored a brilliant 243 in the first innings of Indore Test, has reached 11th place. Mayank, who scored 858 runs after playing the first eight Tests, has scored a total of 691 points.
