Lockie Ferguson Ruled Out of Test Series against Australia due to Injury

A three-match Test series is being played between Australia and New Zealand. The Kiwi team, which lost the first match in this Test series, has suffered a major setback. All-rounder Lockie Ferguson of New Zealand team is out of the series. Lockie Ferguson was part of the Perth Test match, but did not contribute much. Lockie Ferguson made his Test debut against Australia with this match. While bowling against Australia, Lockie Ferguson has a hamstring injury, due to which he will no longer be available in this series. The New Zealand Cricket Board has informed that Lockie Ferguson has been recalled from Australia.

In reference to the exclusion of Lockie Ferguson, the Blackcaps have tweeted, " Lockie Ferguson is returning home from Australia after sustaining a grade two right calf-muscle tendon strain while bowling in the 1st Test in Perth. The injury is expected to need four to six weeks rehabilitation. A replacement player will be named in the next 24 hours" According to the board, there is a very deep injury, which will take more than a month to recover. At the same time, his replacement will be announced in 24 hours.

According to the New Zealand Cricket Board, Lockie Ferguson's injury will recover in 6 weeks. The replacement player will be announced soon for the Test series being played against Australia. The New Zealand team has lost to hosts Australia by 296 runs in the first Test match. Now the second match of this series will be played between 26 to 30 December, which will be a Boxing Day Test match.
