During the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand, Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma suffered an injury, due to which he has now undergone surgery and stitches. However, it is expected that he will be fit before the five-match Test series against England.

According to a senior official of the BCCI, "Ishant hurt his bowling hand while stopping the ball and had to get three stitches. But he should be ready for the Tests against England which starts on August 4." Ahead of the five-match Test series against England from August 4, there is a big setback for Ishant Sharma, as he will not be able to practice. In such a situation, he will avoid doing other exercises as well. Although the doctors have expressed hope that this injury will recover soon. But whether he will be able to play in the upcoming Test series, it remains to be seen.

Ishant took 2 wickets in the WTC final:

Ishant Sharma, who played more than 100 Test matches, managed to take just two wickets in the final of the World Test Championship. At the same time, he could not take a single wicket in the second innings. Due to this, the Indian team had to face defeat by 8 wickets and also lost the title. Now all eyes are on the five-match Test series against the hosts.

During a virtual press conference, Kohli said, "Well, look, firstly, I'm not in absolute agreement of deciding the best Test side in the world over the course of one game, to be very honest. If it is a Test series, it has to be a test of character over three Tests, which team has the ability to come back into the series or totally blow away the other team."
