Indians Treated me Like Chris Gayle after T20 World Cup 2016: Carlos Brathwaite

West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite is remembered for making the team the world champion by hitting four consecutive sixes in the final of the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup. Brathwaite had hit 4 consecutive sixes in the last over of England's Ben Stokes. On Sunday, he told that the most memorable moment of his life is when he got an honor like Chris Gayle in India. He said, 'Cricket is a religion in India. I remember I did that shoot at the airport when crowds gathered around Cris Gayle. After the ICC World Cup, when I reached Delhi to play for the Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), something similar was happening to me.'

The West Indies team was chasing 156 runs against England in the 2016 T20 World Cup final played in India. West Indies lost three wickets for 11 runs. Marlon Samuels and Dwayne Bravo made a comeback for the team after playing a match-saving combative innings. West Indies needed 19 runs off 6 balls and Carlos Brathwaite came to bat at number eight. England all-rounder Ben Stokes came to bowl and Brathwaite hit four sixes off four consecutive balls to make the West Indies world champions for the second time.

Braithwaite said that Bengaluru is his favorite city to party in India, Kolkata is always special and also goes to Mumbai with his wife. He said, 'I played for Delhi Daredevils for two years. Let us tell you that Braithwaite was not bought by any team in last year's IPL auction. Even after this, he hopes to somehow play in the IPL 2020. He said, 'I hope I will be able to play in the IPL in some way, maybe as a replacement for a player or in the commentary.'
