On Sunday, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly confirms that India will play a day-night Test match during the Australia tour this year. Some time ago, Indian captain Virat Kohli also said that his team is ready to play the day-night test during the tour of Australia. BCCI President Ganguly said that India will play the day-night Test in Australia. It will be formally announced soon. Former Indian captain Ganguly also said that the second test match in the next home series against England will be the day-night Test. He also said that the board will try to organize one day-night test in each series in the future.

India played its first day-night Test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in November last year and registered an easy win in the match. The venue of the day-night test on the Australia tour is yet to be decided, but Perth or Adelaide is likely to host the pink ball match. Before the first match of the three-match ODI series against Australia on home soil last month, Kohli said, 'We are ready for the challenge. It has become a very exciting part of any Test series and we are ready to play the day-night test.'

India had rejected Australia's request to play a day-night test in Adelaide in 2018-19 and cited a lack of experience thereafter. Meanwhile, it is learned that India will play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches in Sri Lanka after IPL. Let us tell you that India played their first day-night Test match against Bangladesh last year after Ganguly's effort. India won this match easily and the number of spectators in this test match was also quite high.
