India U-19 World Cup: Team India Won the Match by 10 Wickets

India U-19 team won its second consecutive match in the Under-19 World Cup. India defeated Japan by ten wickets on Tuesday. The entire team of Japan, who came out to bat first, were all out for just 41 runs. It is the second-lowest score in the tournament's history. Ravi Bishnoi took 4 wickets for 5 runs in 8 overs for India. He was adjudged 'Man of the Match'. At the same time, Karthik Tyagi got three and Akash Singh got two wickets. Japan is playing the World Cup for the first time. Earlier, India defeated Sri Lanka by 90 runs in the first league match. India's third league match will be against New Zealand on 24 January.

Batting first, Japan had a poor start. Japan's five wickets had fallen within 20 runs. Karthik Tyagi and spinner Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets off two consecutive balls. Karthik dismissed captain M Thurgate (1), Neil Date (0). Bishnoi then took the wickets of Shu Noguchi (7) and Kazumasha Takahashi (0). Five Japanese batsmen could not even open the account. India scored 42 runs without losing any wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 19 and Kumar Kushagra scored 13 runs. There have been three changes in the Indian team for this match. Kumar Kushagra, Shashwat Rawat and Vidyadhar Patil has got a place in Playing-11 in place of Divyansh Saxena, Shubham Hegde, and Sushant Mishra.

This is the 13th Under-19 World Cup tournament. The Indian team has so far won 4, Australia 3, Pakistan and England 2, West Indies and South Africa 1-1 times. 4-times winner India is also being considered as a strong contender for the title this time. The Indian team won the first title in 2000 under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif. Last time in 2018, India won the title by defeating Australia by 8 wickets under the captaincy of Prithvi Shaw.
