India U-19 Team Won by 120 Runs against New Zealand

On Tuesday, Indian Under-19 team defeated New Zealand by 120 runs to enter the final of the four-nation cricket tournament. The 100-run partnership of the opening pair and the superb performance of the bowlers make it possible for the team to enter the finals with an ease. Along with this, the Indian team also presented proof of their strong preparations for the Under-19 World Cup, starting on 17 January.

Indian u-19 Team Openers Siddhesh Veer (71) and Tilak Verma (59) gave the Indian team a brilliant start with 135 runs partnership for first wicket. However, India lost wickets at regular intervals after that. Apart from the openers, Shashwat Rawat (39), Captain Priyam Garg (19) and Shubhang Hegde (26 not out) reached double digits.

In response, New Zealand team was dismissed for 132 runs in 35.5 overs. Left-arm fast bowler Sushant Mishra (3 for 35) took wickets in the beginning while Left-arm spinner Atharva Ankolekar (3 for 16) played a key role in the lower order. Vidyadhar Patil took two while CTL Rakshan and Hegde took one wicket each.

New Zealand's Batsmen Beckham Weiler Granal (50) and Captain Jesse Teskoff (29) played a good innings for the team. Apart from these two, only number 10 batsman Hayden Dickson (12) reached double digits. India is still invincible in this tournament and they have defeated hosts South Africa as well as Zimbabwe and New Zealand.
