The BCCI announced the Indian team for the home ODI and T20 series against the West Indies on Wednesday. Because of Rohit Sharma's fitness, he has been given captaincy. Kuldeep Yadav has returned to the team. Along with this, leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who made a name for himself in the IPL and Under-19 cricket, has been named to the Indian team for the first time.

The 3-3 ODI and T20 series between India and the West Indies will begin next month. The ODI series will begin on February 6 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, followed by the T20 series on February 16 at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Rohit Sharma has passed the fitness test and will take command of the team. The unique aspect is that, following their dispute with the BCCI, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be seen playing together for the first time.

Ravi represented Rajasthan in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Ravi Bishnoi, who was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, has been named to the Indian team for the first time. So far in List-A, he has appeared in 17 and 42 T20 matches. In List A, he has taken 24 wickets. He has yet to play first-class cricket. Ravi was recently spotted representing Rajasthan in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Washington Sundar, who was ruled out of the series against South Africa due to a Covid-19 as he was tested positive, has also been named to the squad.

Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are on rest. KL Rahul will be available with the second ODI. At the same time, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is in the final stages of recovery from a knee injury and will miss both the ODI and T20 series. Axar Patel will play in the T20 series. Kuldeep Yadav was selected for the team after playing a T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka last year.
