Akash Singh

The first match of the three T20 matches series between India and West Indies will be played on 6 December at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The West Indies team has been in India for some time and before this series, they have played a cricket series against Afghanistan in Lucknow and have become fully familiar with the environment here. At the same time, after the victory in the cricket series played against Bangladesh, the Indian team is now going to start its campaign against the Caribbean team.

Some changes were made to the team for the T20 series against the West Indies, but who gets a chance in the final eleven for the first match will be a matter to be seen. Team opener batsman Shikhar Dhawan has already been ruled out of the series due to injury and now it is believed that KL Rahul may step in to open with Rohit Sharma in his place. Although Rohit Sharma could not score runs in the Test series against Bangladesh, but Rahul achieved his form by batting well in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 series.

Virat Kohli did not played T20 series against Bangladesh and he is now back in the team. He will bat at number three. After Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and then Rishabh Pant can bat at number four. Recently Shreyas Iyer did quite well in the Domestic T20 tournament for Mumbai. However, Rishabh Pant will be under pressure to perform well.

Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal can be given opportunities as spinners in the team. In the previous series, Sundar did well in the powerplay with the new ball and he would be expected to perform again. The Indian team has no shortage of great fast bowlers at the moment and Deepak Chahar will definitely be included in the final eleven for this match. At the same time, in the last eleven Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar can be given a chance to return to the team. Chahar took 6 wickets for 7 runs, bowling brilliantly against Bangladesh.

Possible Indian team for first T20 match –

Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli (captain), Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Mohd. Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal.
