Hope all Players will be Fit for Test Series: Kane Williamson

Akash Singh

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who was troubled by the players' injury in the limited-overs series against India, hopes that all the players in the team will be fit for the Test series starting in Wellington on 21 February. After losing the T20 International series 0–5, New Zealand made a comeback in the ODI series and won by 3–0. After winning the third ODI by five wickets, Williamson's face showed a relaxed smile. Williamson said, "We hope that all the players will be fit for the first Test. It will be a great chance to do well against the best team in the world."

The New Zealand captain said, "The injury to the players is part of the game. In recent times many players have been injured. We are dealing with this but making no excuse. In the role given to the players in the team, they have to perform to the best of their ability."

Williamson said the limited-overs result would have no effect on the Test but the team would like to take the confidence they got from a 3–0 win in the ODI series. He said, 'Obviously there will be other players in the Test and it is a different format. Throughout the series, we tried to play like a team. It is a different format but the players will have to get morale before going into the series.'
