Gautam Gambhir Makes Another Solid Remark, Targets Foreign Coaches This Time

Deepak Sharma

Gautam Gambhir was a terrific opening batsman for the Indian cricket team. He was also in the 2007 T20 World Cup team and 2011 ICC ODI World Cup Team at home.

India won both the ICC tournaments and Gauti had played excellent knocks in that both of the world cup finals, which India won.

The former Indian opener had also captained the Indian side in the past. Gautam Gambhir was also an excellent skipper in the fifty-overs format.

He had not lost a single one-day international cricket match when he led the Indian side. Despite having a 100 per cent record in the ODI format, the former opener was never asked to lead the side.

The former Indian opener was in an event organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) in New Delhi. He has never been shy of making a remark, and this time Gauti targets the oversea coaches.

The former Indian opener said that foreign coaches who come to this country make money and disappear. He asked the BCCI to bring back retired players as future coaches of the Indian cricket team.

The Indian coaches like Ravi Shastri, Anil Kumble and the current head coach Rahul Dravid are the men who can take Indian cricket forward. The Indian board shouldn't hire foreign coaches because the Indians can deliver the best for their own country.

Gauti also said that the Indian coaching setup would be the best from the team's perspective.

Since the appointment of Anil Kumble as the head coach in 2016, the BCCI has always hired an Indian Head Coach, which is a good thing.

Gautam Gambhir feels that the management and officials should continue doing that in the future because it will undoubtedly help Indian cricket evolve more significantly.

Gambhir was reminded of triumph of the 2011 ICC ODI Cricket World Cup

The fans have trolled most of the other remarks and comments made by Gautam Gambhir in the past, and this above remark also didn't go well with them on social media platforms.

Gautam Gambhir was reminded of the triumph of the 2011 ICC ODI Cricket World Cup, which he was part of.

The fans replied to his comment on Twitter. They said that the Indian team won the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011 under a former South African player, Gary Kirsten, and after this win, India played two ICC ODI World Cups in 2015 and 2019. But they could not reach the finals and also couldn't win that ICC mega event.
