England Team Management Releases Ollie Pope ahead of Second Test

The England cricket team management on Thursday announced the release of batsman Ollie Pope from the squad ahead of the second Test against India at Lord's. Now, he will be seen playing for Surrey in the Royal London Cup match against Derbyshire. Giving this information on Twitter, England Cricket wrote, "Batsman @OPope32 has been released from our Test squad for the second Test against India. Pope will play for @surreycricket in their Royal London Cup fixture against Derbyshire."

Meanwhile, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Wednesday announced the inclusion of pacer Saqib Mahmood as cover for the second Test against India at the Lord's Cricket Ground starting Thursday. Earlier spinner Dominic Bess was released from the team and has returned to Yorkshire. "Lancashire fast bowler Saqib Mahmood has been included in the squad as cover for the second Test against India," the ECB said in an official statement. Spinner Dom Bess will leave the team this morning and return to Yorkshire.
