England All-Rounder Ben Stokes Named as Wisden’s Leading Cricketer of the Year

England's team won the 2019 World Cup. All-rounder Ben Stokes played an important role in the tournament and also played brilliantly in the Ashes series against Australia. Based on this, Ben Stokes has been elected as the Wisden's Leading Cricketer of the Year for the year 2019. Virat Kohli has been winning the title of Wisden Leading Cricketer of the Year for the last three years. Virat Kohli was awarded this title in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018, but last year, Ben Stokes has performed well in all three formats of cricket, due to which he got this title. At the same time, Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry has won this title in the women's category.

Wisden has also announced the 5 cricketers of the year who were ahead in terms of scoring the most runs or taking wickets this year. Wisden has included England team pace bowler Jofra Archer, Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, Australian batsman Marnus Labushagne, Australian women's all-rounder Ellyse Perry among these 5 players.

Wisden named Ben Stokes and Ellyse Perry as the Leading Cricketers in the World, while Wisden named West Indies stormy all-rounder Andre Russell as Leading T20 Cricketer in the World. Andre Russell has played fewer T20 Internationals but has played enough T20 League matches, due to which he got this title.
