Don’t Try to be Like MS Dhoni, said Adam Gilchrist to Risabh Pant

Akash Singh

Due to the continuous bad performance of Indian Wicket-Keeper batsman Risabh Pant, Everyone has started crictising him. Recently Former Australian Wicket- Keeper Adam Gilchrist advised Pant not to copy MS Dhoni as he had played a lot of matches and had experience of many tournaments. Gilchrist said that Pant should focus on his game only, he has capability of becoming a good cricketer. Pant was selected as the substitute for MS Dhoni but his continuous poor performance tells the other story.

Pant looks very promising while taking MS Dhoni's place in team but failed to prove his worth.  Everyone started comparing him with MS Dhoni after taking responsibility as wicket keeper in T20 and Test Matches.

Adam Gilchrist said , " I am not comparing Rishabh Pant with MS Dhoni  and not even fans should compare them.  MS Dhoni is a great cricketer and and has achieved many milestones in cricket. Pant should learn from him but should not copy him".  Futher he said that Risabh Pant appears to be a very talented young cricketer. There is no need to put so much pressure on him so soon.  Expecting that he will perform like Dhoni every day is not right. My advice to Rishabh is to learn everything he can learn from Dhoni, do not try to be like Dhoni. Try to be the best Rishabh Pant as he can be.  Rishabh Pant was left out of the playing eleven in the Test series played against South Africa due to poor performance. He has got a chance against Bangladesh in the T20 team.
