Despite Discrimination in PCB, Don’t want Indian Citizenship: Danish Kaneria

Akash Singh

Pakistan's most successful Test spinner Danish Kaneria has played just 18 ODIs. He did not even get a chance to play T20s. He has targeted the selectors and former captains. Kaneria said, "Everyone had their own lobby. I did not fit into that. England's T20 League performance was not considered by the selectors." Earlier, he accused Shahid Afridi that he did not allow other leg-spinners to play in the home match. Let us tell you that Kaneria was banned from playing cricket in England due to fixing. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also banned him for lifetime. He accused the Pakistani media of supporting the PCB.

39-year-old Kaneria said, "I am still ready to play. I also want to do coaching and commentary. I want to give coaching in India, Bangladesh." He further said, "I don't want citizenship of India under CAA law. It is for the minority people who have problems. The people of Pakistan are quite good. I have many fans here. My fight is only with PCB. The board supports all but is discriminating against me."

It was revealed by Shoaib Akhtar last year. Kaneria says that he or Akhtar could have been dropped from the team if he had disclosed it during his career.
