The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the women's squad for the one Test and limited overs series against Australia. For this tour, pacers Meghna Singh and Renuka Singh Thakur included in the Indian team for the first time. While left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gaikwad has also made a comeback to the team.

The Indian team will leave for Australia on August 29 to play three ODIs, one day-night Test and three T20Is. The selectors have named 27-year-old Meghna and 25-year-old Renuka in the Indian team after their good performances in the Senior ODI Trophy in April. Acording to the BCCI, the Indian players are training in Bengaluru before the tour. On reaching Australia, the team will have to go 14-day quarantine.

Two New-comers added to Squad:

Talking about performances of new-comers, Right-arm pacer Meghna took five wickets for Railways. Meanwhile, Renuka took nine wickets for Himachal Pradesh in the tournament. Left-handed batsman Yastika Bhatia has found a place in all three teams. Veteran spinner Rajeshwari was not considered for the England tour as she was recovering from a knee injury.

Meanwhile, the tour will begin with an ODI series, the first will take place on 19 September. While the second and third matches will be played at the Junction Oval on 22 and 24 September respectively. Perth will then host the only pink-ball Test from 30 September, followed by T20 matches at the North Sydney Oval on October 7, 9 and 11.
