Australia’s Chris Green Banned for Illegal Bowling Action in BBL

Australian all-rounder Chris Green, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for this year's Indian Premier League has been banned from bowling for three months due to illegal bowling action in the Big Bash League.

Green's participation in the IPL will now depend on the approval of the league's governing council, as his ban will remain in the tournament starting on March 29. KKR bought this 26-year-old uncapped off-spinner at a base price of Rs 20 lakh in an auction held last month.

Green's suspected action was reported last week during the Sydney Thunder's match against the Melbourne Stars. Peter Roach, Cricket Australia's head of cricket operations, said in a statement, "We'd like to commend Chris and the Thunder for the way they have approached this process with complete cooperation and respect. Chris got his bowling action tested and we will get him tested again in the coming months after the suspension time is over."
