Australia Announces 15-man Squad for T20 World Cup

Cricket Australia on Wednesday announced the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, former team captain Ricky Ponting has reacted to this. He feels that the team is strong and can win this tournament to be held in Oman and UAE. At the same time, Uncapped wicketkeeper-batsman wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis has been included in the team as backup of Matthew Wade.

After the team was announced, Ponting said, "It is great to see Inglis getting a chance in the team, he is scoring a lot of runs. Overall it is a fantastic squad which I think is capable of winning the World Cup." Meanwhile, Captain Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins and Glenn Maxwell return to the Australia squad. Maxwell is also one of four spin options along with Adam Zampa, Ashton Agar and Mitchell Swepson.

Australia to play first match against South Africa:

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia's National Selection Panel (NSP) has named death over specialist Nathan Ellis, all-rounders Dan Christian and Daniel Sams as reserve players for the tournament. Australia will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against South Africa in the first match of the Super 12 stage at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 23 October. They are placed in Group 1 along with defending champions West Indies, 2010 World Cup winners England and South Africa. At the same time, the team will leave for the UAE in late September or early October.
