All England Tournament: PV Sindhu Knocked Out in Quarter-Finals

On Friday, Indian badminton player PV Sindhu suffered a loss in the women's singles quarterfinal match of the All England Open. Japan's Nozomi Okuhara defeated Sindhu 12-21, 21-15, 21-13. The match between the two players lasted for 68 minutes.

Sindhu, who has been struggling with poor form since winning the Gold at the World Championships last year, defeated Korea's Hyun Sung in a straight game in the second round to secure her place in the quarter-finals. In the match that lasted 49 minutes, Sindhu defeated Hyun 21-19 21-17.

Okuhara has defeated Sindhu for the first time in the last 11 months. Sindhu won the last two consecutive matches. This is Okuhara's eighth win in 17 matches against an Indian player. Sindhu, playing this tournament for the eighth time, has reached the semi-finals only once in 2018. She was eliminated in the first round last year.
