Abhay Negi Slams Fastest Half Century in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

In a match between Mizoram and Meghalaya, Abhay Negi from Meghalaya scored the fastest fifty in this tournament in just 14 balls. This match has become memorable for Abhay as Meghalaya beats Mizoram by 25 runs. Meghalaya Team Scored 207 runs with 4 wicket loss in 20 overs while Mizoram's team managed to score 182 runs for 2 wickets in 20 overs.

Abhay broke Robin Uthappa's Record

Abhay Negi scored his half century in just 14 balls against Mizoram. He was not out at 50 runs in 15 balls. He hits 2 fours and 6 sixes in his innings with a strike-rate of 333.33. He becomes the first one to score fastest fifty in this tournament's history.  Before him, this record was named after Robin Uthappa but Abhay surpassed him by playing brilliantly. Abhay Negi scored 31 runs in the last over with four consecutive sixes.

Let us tell you that Yuvraj singh is named after the record for fastest fifty in T-20 match. Yuvraj Scored 50 runs in just 12 balls against England in ICC T20 world cup, 2007. Apart from Yuvraj, West Indies player Chris Gayle and Afghanistan's player Hazratullah had also scored fifties in 12 balls. England's Marcus Trescothick scored a half-century off 13 balls. Apart from this, KL Rahul of India, Farhan Behardin of South Africa, Colin Munro of New Zealand and Keiron Pollard of West Indies also scored an amazing half-century in T20 cricket in 14 balls.
