Indian Players with Double Centuries: Scoring a double hundred, 200 runs, in the one-day international format is very rare and is not an easy job. The batters need to have some special skills to achieve this feat.

In the International cricket arena, very few batters have scored a double ton. Universal Boss Chris Gayle, Martin Guptill and Fakhar Zaman are the players who have achieved this feat previously.

Ishan Kishan is the latest player from India who hit a double century in a one-day international cricket format. The keeper batter achieved this feat in the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh at Chattogram on Saturday, 10th December 2022.

Here is the list of all players of the Indian cricket team, who have a double century in a one-day international format career. Today let us relive those moments of greatness -

Sachin Tendulkar: First man to score 200 runs in ODI cricket

The double century in a one-day international format was scored by none other than the Master Blaster Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He achieved this feat in the game against a good bowling attack of South Africa in 2010 at Gwalior.

The Little Master scored unbeaten 200 runs in 147 balls with 25 fours and three sixes in this great knock. Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni provided good support to Sachin Tendulkar at the end of this marathon innings played by the God of Cricket.

Viru Paaji is the second Indian to score a double hundred in ODI Cricket. His double ton came after Sachin Tendulkar. Viru is still known for his explosive batting stints.

He scored 219 runs at Indore against West Indies. Sehwag was the first captain to score a double hundred in ODI Cricket. He had led the side because MS Dhoni was rested for the series.

Viru smashed the Windies bowlers all around the park, and he brought his maiden and only double ton in that match. Viru scored 219 runs in 149 balls, and he had a strike rate of 146.90.

Rohit Sharma: First and only batter to smash 3 double centuries in ODI cricket

No batter has achieved a spectacular feat of scoring three double centuries in ODI Cricket history other than the current Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma.

He has also scored four centuries in the T20 International cricket format which is also the most by any player in the world.

Rohit Sharma: First and only batter to smash 3 double centuries in ODI cricket

Hit Man scored his first double ton against the mighty Aussies in 2013 at Bangalore. He played brilliant innings of 209 runs. In this knock, Rohit went after the spinners and he also announced himself as the greatest ODI batsman.

Then in 2014, Rohit scored the highest individual score in ODI cricket history. His 264-run knock was like mount Everest for the opposition team, Sri Lanka.

Hit Man achieved this feat at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. His last double ton was also against a mid-core bowling attack from Sri Lanka. In 2017, Rohit captained the Indian Team for the first time in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

In just the second match of his captaincy, Rohit smashed his first 200 as the skipper. That match was played in Mohali, and all of his doubletons are known for their great acceleration. Rohit was unbeaten on 208 runs in that game.
