J&K Administration Issues New Advisory for Amarnath Yatris, RFID Tag Compulsory for Devotees

RFID Tag Compulsory for Devotees: Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued a fresh advisory on Amarnath Yatra. In this advisory of the Public Relations Department of the government, passengers have been advised not to travel without RFID tags.

The administration has said that it has been seen that some passengers are reaching Srinagar, Pahalgam and Sonmarg directly in their vehicles. The administration has said that such passengers who will be without RFID tags will not be allowed to travel.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has flagged off the first batch of pilgrims from the Jammu base. Amarnath Yatra is starting from June 30.

The advisory states that it has been observed that some passengers are not traveling with the batch and are directly reaching Srinagar, Pahalgam and Sonmarg by their/hire vehicles.

Such travellers are advised to obtain their RFID tags from the Tourist Reception Center (TRC) of Srinagar, Pahalgam Club and Sonmarg Development Agency before proceeding on the journey.

Passengers who do not have an RFID tag will not be allowed to travel.

Two routes are used for Amarnath Yatra, Pahalgam and Baltal routes. In view of the threat of Corona, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, after holding talks with the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, postponed the Yatra for 2020 and 2021.

It has been ensured by the administration that the devotees do not face any kind of problem on the way to Amarnath.

Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor on Monday visited the base camp set up for the Amarnath Yatra, reviewed the arrangements for the yatra and said the security forces are on the alert to ensure the pilgrimage goes smoothly.
