Rape Case: Crime was Performed Under the Guise of Marriage, Suspect was Apprehended in Jaipur
Instance of raping a female MBBS student in Central Delhi's Karol Bagh locality has surfaced. The police launched a case and arrested the accused from Jaipur, Rajasthan, based on the victim's allegation.
Rajneesh Sharma has been named as the suspect (26). By residing in Delhi, the accused was preparing for the UPSC exam. The offender was taken to Delhi and appeared in court, where he was sentenced to prison. Rajneesh allegedly raped the victim under the guise of marriage, according to the victim. The accused escaped to Jaipur after the incident. The matter is being investigated by the Karol Bagh Police Station. Rajneesh's father has served as the head of village Ajitgarh in Rajasthan on two occasions.

The family of Shalu (24) (name altered) lives in North-West Delhi, according to the police. Shalu is in her final year of MBBS at a Delhi Cantt institution. She stays in a PG in Karol Bagh because of her education. Shalu met Rajneesh in the year 2020. Rajneesh was also a resident of Karol Bagh's PG. He used to do temporary work in the Delhi Metro while he was studying for the Civil Services. They became buddies after meeting at a metro stop.
Raped Shalu multiple times
After a few days, the two of them began to see each other. Rajneesh, the accused, expressed his love for the victim and expressed his intention to marry her soon. The accused allegedly took advantage of this and raped her multiple times without her consent. When the accused was repeatedly pressured by the victim to marry, she would postpone. The accused quit his work and fled to Jaipur when the victim put pressure on the marriage.
Sentenced to prison

On February 11, the victim went to the Karol Bagh police station. The case was immediately registered by the police after an investigation. The hunt for the accused begun and the police discovered that the accused is in Jaipur with the help of technological surveillance. A team was immediately dispatched to Jaipur, where they were apprehended and transported to Delhi. During the investigation, the police discovered that one of the accused's girlfriends had already arrived in Jaipur. He was brought before the court and sentenced to prison.
