Rajasthan CM Gehlot blames BJP's 'Hindu Rashtra' theory for Amritpal Singh's rise in Punjab, saying, "A new figure, Amritpal Singh, has emerged who is arguing that if Mohan Bhagwat and Modi can talk about Hindu Rashtra, why can't I talk about Khalistan? What gives him such courage? Our country has stayed unified since Indira Gandhi refused to allow the establishment of Khalistan, which is also why she was assassinated."

On Friday i.e. March 31, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot attacked RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that their frequent conversations about Hindu nationalism inspired Sikh hardliner Amritpal to speak out about Khalistan.

Gehlot targeted them while attending a divisional-level workers' conference in Bharatpur and Ajmer.

In a speech to party workers in Bharatpur, he downplayed the schism inside the Congress in Rajasthan.

He went on to say that religion and politics had become inextricably linked in the country. "We have reason to be anxious about our nation." That is in the best interests of the country.

Every party has small disputes and occasional grievances, he said, perhaps referring to his power struggle with his former deputy Sachin Pilot.

He expressed optimism that the Congress will retake power in the state in the year-end assembly elections.

Amritpal Singh still on run

While the hunt for the Khalistani supporter still continues. The Waris Punjab De head has broadcast two video messages and one audio message from hiding.

Amritpal Singh's two video messages, which were circulated on social media on Wednesday and Thursday, included a request to the Akal Takht's jathedar (chief), who serves as the highest temporal authority in the Sikh community, to arrange for a "sarbat khalsa" gathering - a congregation of the devout.
