Agnipath Scheme: West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has come out in support of the Centre's Agnipath recruitment scheme and also targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for opposing it.

Addressing a public meeting on Sunday, Suvendu Adhikari said that Agnipath is a life-changing decision by the central government.

Also he said that I support the remark made by Rajnath Singh, in which he said that those who burnt trains and buses and pelted stones will not be allowed in army jobs.

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari hit out at Mamata Banerjee over the recruitment of civilian volunteers and demanded why she did not make their jobs permanent.

Also challenged her to take measures to help the recruits under the Agnipath scheme and mentioned how Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced 75 per cent reservation for Agniveers in recruitment in Assam Police.

Suvendu Adhikari said that I want to ask Mamata Banerjee, "can you decide to give permanent jobs to civil volunteers? If you have that power, then announce to Nabanna that from tomorrow the job of Civil Volunteers, Home Guard, Junior Constable, and Village Police will be permanent. And you should reserve at least 25 per cent seats for Agniveers in Bengal Police, then you can criticize."

Agnipath Scheme: TMC is against the Centre's Agnipath scheme

Last week, Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress called the Centre's Agnipath scheme anti-national and demanded that it be withdrawn with immediate effect.

Soon after the central government launched the Agnipath scheme to recruit soldiers in the Indian Armed Forces, job aspirants have taken to the streets in protest. During this, violent demonstrations have also taken place in many places.
