Public Information Portal- 2019 has been Launched

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Friday that Rajasthan will become a model state in Transparency and Accountability. The state government has launched a new public information portal where information on 23 schemes and services of the State government will be available. Gahlot said after the launch of the Public Information Portal-2019 under Rajasthan Innovation Vision (Rajiv) at Birla Auditorium, "Governance In order to ensure transparency and accountability, our government first introduced the right to information from Rajasthan.

The public information portal launched today will further strengthen this right. It is our endeavor that Rajasthan should become the model state of the country towards transparent and accountable governance. Our government has taken this innovative initiative first in the country. He hoped that this portal would prove to be a milestone in giving good governance to the common man. The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made to weaken the right to information. He questioned the motives of those who did so, saying that this would weaken the intention of bringing transparency and accountability in governance. He said that our government will not allow this law to get weaken in anyway. The public information portal is an expression of our government's resolve, he said that the state government has started the Rajasthan Innovation Vision (Rajiv) on the 75th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. He said that good governance is possible only through e-governance. In the program, Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said that through this portal of the state government, the intention is very clear that transparency should be brought through technology.

Rajasthan is the first state which is going to make the information of about a dozen departments available to the common man through this portal. He said that our government is making the Right to Information Act more robust and comprehensive. He said that this is a noble beginning. With the initiative and strong will of the government, this portal will lead to better results with the cooperation of common people and civil society. The program also conveyed the message of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. In the message, Sonia Gandhi congratulated the state government for this initiative and said that this will further strengthen the spirit of the Right to Information Act and will make this portal an example for other states as well. In the program, social activist Aruna Roy, of Delhi High Court Former Chief Justice Ajit Prakash Shah, Regional Coordinator of the United Nations in India and Chief Secretary DB Gupta were also present.
