It's Muslims who're using most contraceptives. The total fertility rate which was 2.6 in 2016 is now 2.3. Country's demographic dividend is best among all countries,” said AIMIM’s Owaisi.

How does the issue of ‘Population Imbalance’ come into being?
United Nation on the occasion of World Population Day presented a report stating India would surpass China as the world’s most populous country by 2023, i.e. next year. Uttar Pradesh Chief Yogi Adityanath while expressing his concern over the increasing population said that programs related to population control must go hand in hand but at the same time, 'population imbalance' should not take place.

CM further added, "It should not happen that the speed of population growth or the percentage of a certain community is high and we stabilise the population of the `moolniwasi’ (natives) through awareness or enforcement."
