The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra, demanding a ban on large election rallies in the Corona crisis. The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee alleges that the inauguration and foundation stone are being laid with government funds. The party has written that in the Panchayat elections, teachers, officers, security personnel were forced to do duty, among them 2,500 teachers and employees died of corona. Care has to be taken to prevent recurrence of such tragedy. Corona guidelines have to be followed to keep the public safe in view of the third wave.
The Congress party has said that PM Narendra Modi is inaugurating and laying the foundation stone through big rallies as the elections are near. Government money and machinery is being used in this. These programs have become more of a platform for BJP's campaign. The PM is sniping at political parties by going outside the purview of the Constitution.
