Afghanistan witnessed an enormous loss due to the earthquake that hit the state with a magnitude of 6.1 on Wednesday. This incident took the lives of more than 1000 people whereas more than 1500 got injured due to the same.

Would welcome International Help
A foreign ministry while speaking on the issue said that they would welcome if international countries would provide some aid to them. The State which had already suffered from an economic crisis, faced yet another stroke yesterday. As said by the rescue team, a number of people remained stuck under the rubble and in outlying areas, also the rescue team found it difficult to evacuate those living in inaccessible hillside areas.

An anonymous source said "Many people are still buried under the soil. The rescue teams of the Islamic Emirate have arrived along with the commoners to evacuate those who are injured as well as dead.”

Problems Ahead:
The Poor Taliban Government(Poor here refers to their managerial inefficiency ) would be facing stiff challenges in carrying out the rescue operation. The Terrorist who took the guard last year had been cut off from almost all international assistance because of sanctions. At present, The Taliban-led ministry of defence is leading the rescue efforts at present.

Most of the deaths occurred in the eastern city of Paktika

The interior ministry official Salahuddin Ayubi said that most of the death occurred in the eastern city of Paktika after which rescue operation started and rescuers arrived at the point of impact with the helicopters.

According to the European Seismological Sgency (EMSC), the earthquake shakes were experienced over 300 miles (around 500 km) by 119 million people across three nations that are Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

However, no such casualties have been reported in Pakistan.

In a Twitter statement by state-run Bakhtar news agency’s director-general Abdul Wahid Rayan, he wrote; “Severe earthquake trembled four districts of Paktika province, claiming and injuring hundreds of people and destroying dozens of properties.”
