India's Six-time best world champion M C Mary Kom and Lovlina Borgohain have been chosen for the women's world boxing championship scheduled from October 3 to 13 in Russia.

The determination has been made dependent on their ongoing exhibitions.

The 36-year-old Mary Kom, who has just asserted two gold medals this year India Open and ongoing competition in Indonesia, has been chosen in the 51kg category. World and Asian bronze-medallist Borgohain will contend in the 69kg categories.

However, the last-minute cancellation of World women's championships selection trials in Delhi for 51kg by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) left Asian championships bronze medal-winning boxer Nikhat Zareen helpless.
