French Open: Men’s Doubles Players Removed after Testing Positive for COVID-19

Two players of men's doubles had tested positive for COVID-19 and been removed from the tournament, according to French Open organizers. The two players were not named by organisers. In a statement, the Organisers said, "The Roland Garros tournament organisers confirm that two players from the men's doubles draw, on the same team, have tested positive for COVID-19. In line with the tournament's public health and safety protocol, the pair have been removed from the draw and the two players placed in quarantine. They will be replaced by the first team on the alternate list."

So far 2,446 coronavirus tests conducted in the tournament:

According to French Tennis Federation (FFT), since the start of the qualifiers, 2,446 COVID-19 Tests have been conducted so far. At the same time, two players of doubles have been found infected. Both the players are from the same team. However, the names of the players were not disclosed by the FFT. Meanwhile, Doubles pair Jaume Munar and Feliciano López have also withdrawn.

Naomi Osaka also withdrew from the tournament:

World No. 2 female tennis player Naomi Osaka has decided to pull out of the French Open after the first match. She was fined about 10 lakh rupees (15 thousand US dollars) for not attending the press conference on Sunday. Giving this information on social media, Osaka said that she has been battling depression since the US Open in 2018.
