By beating Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer enters the semifinals on Thursday. Eventually Roger Federer avenges the loss of the Wimbledon 2019 final. Federer, who suffered a straight-set defeat to the Dominic Thiem in his first match, showed his form and won by 6-4, 6-3.

Djokovic's defeat also eliminated the possibility of him becoming number one by the end of the year. Currently Nadal is at the top of the list. Djokovic would have been able to remove Nadal from number one only after winning the title, but now the Spanish player is set to remain on top at the end of the year. Djokovic had faced defeat from Dominic Theim too.

Roger Federer has reached the semifinals of ATP finals for the 16th time. He is on the second place after Theim in Bjorn Borg Group. In the Bjorn Borg Group formal match, Matteo Berretini defeated Theme 7-6 (7/3), 6-3. Federer will now face the winner of the Andre Agassi group. Stefanos Sitisipas from the Agassi group has already made it to the semi-finals. For the second place, there will be a competition between Nadal, defending champion Aleksandr Zverev and Denil Medvedev.
