Sanjay Raut to be in ED Custody till August 4: PMLA Court

Sanjay Raut in ED Custody: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut is on the radar of the Enforcement Directorate in the Patra Chawl scam.

He was arrested by the ED on Sunday after 17 hours of interrogation. On Monday, the ED got him medically done at JJ Hospital before being produced before the PMLA court.

During the hearing, the ED sought Raut's eight-day custody from the court for further questioning.

After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court sent Raut to custody till August 4.

Raut's lawyer told the court that his client's arrest was political. This matter is old and has been reopened in the spirit of political vendetta. Raut is being deliberately targeted.

Shiv Sena is attacking BJP on Raut's arrest. Aaditya Thackeray while attacking said that no one will be able to break Shiv Sena. "No one will be able to destroy the Thackeray family," he said.

The issue of Raut's arrest also cropped up in Parliament on Monday. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is scheduled to address the media at 4 pm.

Earlier, to show solidarity with Uddhav Raut went to his residence in Bhandup and met the family members.

ED should not arrest Raut without sufficient evidence- Shiv Sena MLA

Shiv Sena MLA Deepak Kesarkar said that the ED should not arrest Raut without sufficient evidence. He said that it is completely wrong to link Raut's arrest with Eknath Shinde.

The issue of ED's action against Raut was raised in the Rajya Sabha. Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi gave notice of adjournment motion in the morning.
