PM Modi's Mother Heeraben's Childhood was Spent in Extreme Poverty, Know About her Simple Life

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben breathed her last at 3:30 am on Friday. She was admitted to UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad on Tuesday evening due to shortness of breath.

Despite the best efforts of the doctors and expert team, Heeraben left this world on December 30 at 3:30 am. She has left behind a whole family to cherish her memories.

Heeraben, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was born on 18 June 1923 in Visnagar tehsil of Mehsana district. Heeraben's mother passed away in her childhood.

'Bin Mata Ki' Heeraben's childhood was spent in extreme poverty. Being the eldest in the house, Heeraben took care of the entire family.

Later, at a young age, she got married to the Modi family of Vadnagar. There too she was the eldest daughter-in-law of the family. Here also the responsibility was big on her, but she kept the family united without getting distracted in the slightest.

She lived in a small house in Vadnagar, where there was not a single window. Satisfied with the little comfort given by her husband Damodardas Modi, she continued to run her household.

Heeraben lived a life of simplicity with younger son Pankaj Modi

In times of financial crisis at home, Heeraben also cleaned utensils in other homes. She also continued to do the work of spinning cotton.

She has five sons and one daughter. The eldest son is Soma Modi, followed by Amrit, Narendra, Prahlad and Pankaj Modi.One daughter's name is Vasanti.

Later, when the sons reached a good position, she used to stay with the younger son Pankaj Modi. Pankaj Modi was a general employee in the Information Department.

PM Modi's mother Heeraben used to take only the food made in her house. Most of the time she used to eat khichdi, daal-bhaat, lapsi, which she liked very much.

After becoming the Prime Minister in the year 2014, Narendra Modi took his mother Heeraben with him to Delhi in the year 2016.

Here he took the mother in a wheelchair to the garden of PM House and informed her about the garden there.

Heeraben entered the 100th year on 18th June 2022

When Heeraben entered the 100th year on 18th June 2022, many programs were organized in Vadnagar and Gandhinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also came to her to seek her blessings.

Aarti of 100 diyas was performed at Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Heeraben's village Vadnagar.

Nutritious food was given to the children in all the schools of Vadnagar. At the same time, Navchandi Yagya was also organized in Vadnagar for her centenary.
