On Monday, the President of the country, Ram Nath Kovind, awarded the nominees for the Padma Award. The government had announced the distribution of these awards on the occasion of Republic Day. The distribution ceremony of these awards was done at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu were also present. This is the second award distribution ceremony in which many eminent people were honoured with Padma awards. Let us inform you that before this, the Civil Award distribution ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 21, during which 54 people were honoured with Padma awards.

People including Sonu Nigam, Neeraj Chopra got the Padma Shri award

Neeraj Chopra, who won India a gold medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020, was honoured with the Padma Shri award by President Ram Nath Kovind. Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam was also honoured with the Padma Shri award. Apart from this, people including Sumit Antil for sports, Smt. Lalita Vakil in the field of art, Shriguru Dr. Balaji Tambe (posthumous) for medicine, Sadhguru Brahmeshanandacharya for spiritualism, Dr. Shaibal Gupta (posthumous) for literature and education were also honoured by the President.

People including Victor Banerjee were honoured with Padma Bhushan

The Padma Bhushan awardees include actor Victor Banerjee and Bharat Biotech's chairman Krishna Murthy Ella and Suchitra Krishna Ella. Apart from this, Acharya Vashishtha Tripathi, Dr. Pratibha Ray, Dr. Sanjaya Rajaram (posthumously), also received this honour.

Kalyan Singh received Padma Vibhushan posthumously

During the ceremony of award distribution, Kalyan Singh (posthumously) was awarded the Padma Vibhushan. Kalyan Singh has been the Governor of Rajasthan. He was also the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh during the Babri incident in 1992. Apart from this, Dr. Prabha Atre also received the Padma Vibhushan award in the field of art.
