Separatist Yasin Malik: Separatist leader Yasin Malik, accused of terror funding to create an atmosphere of unrest in Kashmir, was convicted today i.e. May 19. Let us tell you that Yasin Malik convicted in a terror funding case had accepted his crime in Patiala House Court on May 10.
In the court, Malik said that he does not deny the charges of terror funding, joining terrorist groups, conspiracy and sedition.
After Yasin's confession on May 10, Special Judge Praveen Singh had fixed May 19 as the date for a debate on Yasin Malik's sentence. Significantly, during the hearing on May 10 itself, the court had formally framed charges against all the other accused in this case.
Hafiz Saeed, Syed Salahuddin, Shabir Shah, Masarat Alam, Rashid Engineer, Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Bitta Karate, Aftab Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Naeem Khan, Bashir Ahmed Butt alias Peer Saifullah and others were ordered to frame charges.
According to the NIA, terrorist organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, JKLF, and Jaish-e-Mohammed, with the help of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, carried out attacks and violent incidents on civilians and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
It was revealed in the NIA that Hafiz Saeed, in connivance with Hurriyat Conference leaders, had transacted money to carry out terrorist activities through hawala and other channels.
The money was used to create unrest in the valley, attack security forces, burn down schools and damage public property.
After getting information about this, the NIA had registered a case under sections 120B, 121, 121A of the Indian Penal Code and sections 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39 and 40 of the UAPA.
