Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Saturday evening. The two leaders discussed several international issues, including strengthening bilateral economic and cultural ties. At the 14th India-Japan Summit, PM Modi said that the two countries have a long-standing friendship. After meeting his Japanese counterpart, PM Modi said that Japan has set a target of investing 3.2 lakh crore in India over the next five years.
At the India-Japan Annual Conference, PM Modi said that the economic partnership between India and Japan has made great strides in the last few years. Japan is one of the largest investors in India. The PM said that at present India and Japan are working together on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor. The PM said Japan would increase its investment in India to 5 trillion yen or 3.2 lakh crore in the next five years.
The two leaders also discussed the Ukraine crisis. The Prime Minister of Japan said that both countries should make efforts to maintain peace in the Indo-Pacific region. Both Japan and India will continue to work together to end the current war crisis and continue to assist Ukraine.

After the summit, the Prime Minister said in a press conference that India's ‘Make in India’ offers unlimited possibilities for the whole world and Japanese companies have been our brand ambassadors for a long time. The Prime Minister said that both Japan and India recognize the importance of a safe and stable energy supply as it is critical to economic development and tackling the problem of climate change.
