Smallest Rocket Successfully Launched: Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully launched its smallest rocket SSLV-D2 today i.e. on 10 February 2023 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

Small Satellite Launch Vehicle SSLV-D2 was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

ISRO has issued a statement saying that SSLV-D2 has placed all three satellites in their target orbit.

The first test flight of SSLV on August 9 was a partial failure as the rocket failed to place its satellite payloads in its target orbits.

SSLV-D2 lifted off from the first launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 9.18 am today i.e. Feb 10 with three satellites, including one developed by 750 girl students from across India.

Announcing the successful launch, the space agency tweeted from its official handle, "Mission accomplished. SSLV-D2 successfully placed EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSat-2 into their target orbits."

SSLV caters to the launch of satellites up to 500 kg into low earth orbits on a 'launch-on-demand' basis.

It provides low-cost access to space and helps in short turn-around time and optimally accommodates multiple satellites.
