New Parliament Building Inauguration: In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Finance revealed its plans to introduce a special Rs 75 coin commemorating the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

The coin will prominently feature the inscription "Parliament Complex" along with a depiction of the new Parliament building.

As per the ministry's notification, the coin will possess a circular shape with a diameter measuring 44 millimetres.

Additionally, the ministry stated that the coin would be adorned with 200 serrations along its edges.

Additionally, the specifications clarified that the coin would be crafted from a quaternary alloy, consisting of 50 per cent silver, 40 per cent copper, 5 per cent nickel, and 5 per cent zinc.

In international numerals, the year "2023" will be inscribed below the image of the Parliament Complex on the coin.

PM Modi to Unveil New Parliament Building on May 28

On Sunday (May 28), Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the new Parliament building, and approximately 25 parties are anticipated to be present for the event.

However, in a contrasting stance, 20 opposition parties have chosen to boycott the ceremony.

In addition to the 18 members from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes the BJP, 7 parties outside the NDA coalition have expressed their intention to attend the inauguration ceremony.

Their decision is based on their stated position regarding the matter, which has escalated into a significant political contention between the ruling and opposition factions.

Finance Minister Sitharaman Appeals to Opposition

On Thursday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman extended a heartfelt appeal to the Opposition parties urging them to reconsider their decision to boycott the inauguration ceremony and instead "change their stand."
