CBI Screws on Lalu Yadav in Railway Recruitment Scam Case, Raids at 17 Places including Rabri Devi's Residence

Railway Recruitment Scam Case: The problems of former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Yadav seem to be increasing. According to the information, the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) has raided 17 places related to Lalu Yadav.

What is the matter?

A new corruption case has been registered against RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav over alleged irregularities in recruitment during his tenure as railway minister in the UPA government, weeks after he was granted bail in the fodder scam case.

During 2004-2008, the case of railway recruitment scam came to the fore. In that case, the CBI is raiding the residence of Rabri Devi along with Lalu Prasad Yadav. A total of 17 locations have been raided in Delhi, Patna and Gopalganj.

The functioning of Lalu Prasad Yadav as Railway Minister was questioned by the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, even in 2009 she demanded a CBI inquiry. Mamata Banerjee had demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities during her tenure between 2004 and 2008.

After this, the CBI has started the action. If reports are to be believed, apart from Lalu Yadav, his family members have also been made accused in the new case.

Railway Recruitment Scam Case: Raid at Rabri Devi's Residence

According to the sources, the CBI has done the work of registering a new case against Lalu Yadav and his daughter. The CBI had done a preliminary investigation in this case, after which the CBI registered a case and started an investigation.

It is being told that the CBI has also reached the residence of Rabri Devi, wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav, located in Patna, the capital of Bihar.
