An ASI and a selection grade constable are among the martyred soldiers in the terrorist attack on the soldiers of the 9th Battalion of the Kashmir Armed Forces in Jewan, Srinagar. He told that these terrorists must have taken shelter in the nearby streets. This area is considered suspicious. Many operations have been conducted in this area. Many terrorists have been eliminated. He claimed that terrorist masterminds sitting in Pakistan are engaged in disturbing Jammu and Kashmir. Dilbagh Singh said that the terrorists have become frustrated due to the ongoing action against the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir and the army. This is the reason, they are doing such attacks out of desperation.

Prime Minister also expressed sympathy to the families of the security personnel who were martyred in the attack.

Kashmiri leaders also condemned the attack

National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah also offered sympathy to the bereaved families while paying tribute to the martyred policemen. Terming the attack as tragic, Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti alleged that it "exposed the Centre's false statement of normalcy in Kashmir".
