Health Tips: If you Drink Green Tea to Lose Weight, then be Careful!

When it comes to some beverages for weight loss or health improvement, the name Green Tea comes at the top of our list. Green tea is consumed by people all over the world.  Advertising companies and brands claim that it boosts your metabolism and helps in weight loss, but the truth is that a high intake of green tea can be harmful to the body. According to research, due to a high amount of caffeine, excess of green tea can dehydrate your body and also increase stomach acid.

Not good for the stomach
Drinking green tea on an empty stomach can cause abdominal pain or constipation. This is because green tea contains tannin which increases stomach acid. If you consume it more during the day, it can cause many health problems.

Lowers iron levels in the body
Green tea contains catechins which are known to promote metabolism, but excessive intake of green tea can cause iron deficiency in the body.

Dehydrates the body
Green tea has diuretic properties, excess intake of it can cause a lack of water in the body.

May cause headache
People who consume green tea in high amounts often complain of headache because green tea has high caffeine content and also causes dehydration.
