Sponge cake is a sweet, delicious tea time snack that you can make at home without much effort. This recipe can be made from readily available ingredients in home kitchens. This cream base cake looks very tasty with tea or coffee. The biggest advantage of making this cake at home is that you can make changes according to your choice.

Ingredients:

4 eggs

1 pinch of salt

½ tsp lemon juice

1 cup of sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

How To Make Sponge Cake Recipe:

 Step 1:

To make the sponge cake at home, first, whip the eggs in a bowl until a thick foam-like texture is formed.

 Step 2:

Now add sugar to this bowl and continue whisking. Keep adding flour in this mixture occasionally. If you want to make it more healthy then use sugar-free instead of sugar.

 Step 3:

When all the ingredients are mixed well together, then add grated orange peel and lemon juice and put this mixture on top of the sponge cake batter. Meanwhile, heat the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

 Step 4:

After this, grease a baking tray with butter and put the batter in the baking tray and keep this tray in a preheated oven. To know whether the cake is fully cooked or not, put a toothpick in the cake and if it comes out clean it means the cake is cooked. Finally, place the cake on a serving plate and serve with garnished with icing sugar.
