Sharing the pictures of the marriage, Malala wrote on Tuesday, "Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead".

To suppress Malala Yousafzai, an advocate of girls' education in Pakistan, she was attacked by the Taliban in 2012 and they tried to kill her by shooting her in the head. This attack on Malala returning home from school was fatal. After a long treatment in Britain, she was cured and once again started her campaign. Malala is the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

She had said, "I still don't understand why people have to get married. If you want one person in your life, why do you need to sign marriage papers, why can't it just be a partnership?"

Malala is known for advocating for the education and human rights of women and children in the Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province in northwestern Pakistan.
