Jawaharlal Nehru University is having a meeting of the Executive Council (EC) on Wednesday, but students have gathered in the JNU administrative building and protesting for not calling the students union representatives. Accusing the administration, the Student union general secretary Satish Chandra Yadav said that this morning we reached the convention center of JNU. EC meeting was to be held here. But it did not happen.

The student representatives were told that the meeting is going to be many more and you should also join us. Yavad said that we refused to go. The student union said that until the administration does not listen to us then our performance will continue.

Shehla Rashid, an alumnus of JNU and vice-president of the Students Union in the year 2015-16, also reached the campus in support of the students. He said that poor students should be provided facilities for education. The specialty of JNU is that the child of the cleaning worker also studies here. It is wrong to argue that only the poor students get subsidy, then it falls in a different place and the children of the rich fall in different places. The same is happening today in government schools and private schools. The status of the university is good when the child of the scavenger and the child of the minister study together. In JNU, children from many poor families come to study, so hostel fees should not be increased at all.
