Retired Indian Army Man Beaten to Death By Liquor Mafia

Muzzafarpur district of Bihar, a retired Indian Army man was beaten to death allegedly by the liquor mafia in Jehangirpur village under Ahiyapur police station on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as 65-year-old Chandrabushan Thakur. He was allegedly beaten to death when he was on his way to a village from his house. Braj Bihari Thakur, a relative of the deceased said that he objected to liquor sale in the area and the mafias suspected him to be a police informer after which they attacked him. Liquor sale and consumption are banned across Bihar.

Meanwhile, after he was attacked and sustained serious injuries, he was immediately rushed to the district hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Though the police have registered a case against two individuals and they are also investigating on the liquor angle, Mukul Ranjan, Deputy Superintendent of Police said.
